Steering Wheels
Ok, first off... how do you remove a 5th gen steering wheel? I cannot get the cover off the cruise buttons.
Secondly... has anyone swapped a 6th gen wheel into a 5th gen? I want the audio controls, and also like the looks of the 6th gen wheel better... plus, I was gonna do a type-S perforated wheel. Im not worried about the wirring of the audio controls... that I can handle... Im just concerned about the air bag.
Lastly... how do you remove a 6th gen wheel?
Diagrams/pictures would be a HUGE help!
Thanks!

I think it would work, but you gotta get a 6th gen airbag, which is $.
Anway, here's instructions on removing the steering wheel on 6th gens:

You can swap for a leather steering wheel on first gen Acura CL's that will fit your stock airbag. I'm guessing you'd have to settle for used though.
If you're going to the work of swapping airbag...screw the 6th gen accord, get a three spoke wheel from either S2K or 03 Accord coupe (that is if they work)

im not too concerned about the $$, cause my uncle has a junk yard... and last I knew he has a couple accords in there... but one is a DX and one is a LX... so I would need the wheel from something else, like I mentioned, a CL-S.
I have a honda leather wrap on my stock 5th gen wheel which is very nice, but I just like the overall shape and style of the 6th gen wheels.
The 97 CL has the same wheel as my car... so that would be pointless... and the 98-99 wheel is the same as the 6th accords... so im guessing the wirring is the same as the 6th gen accords as well.
Thanks for the instructions!!

Do you think they make that leather wrap for a 4th gen? I would love to completely change my wheel/bag with something nicer but have no idea what is compatible. Anyone know if another gen. Accord wheel fits on a 4th gen?
So to jump on your thread SumAccordGuy94. I Just have these two questions.
Thanks.

I know for a fact that if you put an s2k wheel on your 94, the airbag will no longer function due to the updated wiring, plugs, etc.. and i dont think theres a way to change that. And since in 96, Honda used the updated aribag wiring on the accord, the Sk2 wheel now fit with an operable air bag on the 96+ Accords. So that would probably mean the 96 Accord has the same airbag wiring for the 6th gen Accords, unless it was once again changed. So this would mean any Airbag/steering wheel u get from a 96+ Honda, the airbag will not function. But other than that, the S2k wheel will bolt on your 94 fine. And also note that modyfying the airbag system in any car is illegal. just something to think about.
Im not sure if the 6th gen wheel even bolts on the 5th gen's since ive never heard of anyone swapping it, or anyone swapping an S2k wheel on the 6th gen wheel. Because if an S2k wheel bolts on the 6th gen, that means the 6th gen wheel will bolt on your 94.
Also, as far as i know... the Audio controls are infared on the wheel meaning no wiring, but you need to get a 6th deck to make it operable. And if u have an aftermarket deck and plan on keeping it, ive heard horror stories of people trying to get it to work with it... involves wiring a converter or something so the radio recognizes a different signal... very difficult i think. Especially since its not that hard to just reach over to the actual radio to adjust volume etc....
