that was just labor and keep in mind the motor and tranny is already out of the car. a 5sp conversion without a motor swap is more for labor. also think NYC is the most expensive region for swap labor too.

I never found ebay to be cheap for engines actually. usually more expensive than most sites. I got mine for 3500 shipped. oh and there was a prelude body surrounding it

2500 seems to be around the pretty standard price, install can vary depending on who you have do it. On my motor swap I didn't spend much because I had my friend's shop do it I paid more with cigarettes than actual cash

You really don't need JDM, trust me. I got mine from Osaka for 1600 plus about 400 for shipping and such. So about 2000 total. The only problem is, it blew after 6 months. There are threads out there about JDM motors and their risks. The timeline for an engine from when it is pulled in Japan to when it gets installed in your car is amazing. I was gonna get a USDM H22 when mine blew (WAY CHEAPER) but decided to go all motor instead. But if you do get one, do it yourself, saves a buttload of money. Plus if you have everything you need when you start, it'll take a day. Check the DIY forum here to see what all it involves. If all else fails, use the search button, its there for a reason.
