Default looking for better performance

sup, im new to the board and i was wondering if anyone had any opinions on what i should start out with when upgrading my car for better performance. What parts should i replace first, what brand that sort of stuff.

i drive a 2000 Honda Accord EX 4dr 5 speed manual VTEC

its all stock right now, and im pretty happy with it but, i like to drive fast and would like a bit more pick up..

read my sig for some extra stuff, headers, cams, cam gears, or if you want to go big, NOS and turbo. Just keep on reading and by the end of the week you'll have so much stuff in your head you won't be able to choose. Welcome bro

it sounds like you are very green when it comes to knowledge about cars so i would suggest hanging around here reading threads and visit a dragway on street night(if you have one close by) and talk to other honda owners who are racing their cars. you can also use the search button and search for info about specific parts your interested in. I just don't let some dumbass talk you into buying some crap that won't do anything for you or is of poor quality and doesn't perform well.

:werd: now thats the best advice any1 can give. since your here just take a seat and chill. many threads on just about anything you can think of for your car. ask a few questions (dumb or not) in whateva threads you like if you really want to know. if you feel bad or whateva about asking some1 something in a thread PM them. many of us respond to PM's (few just dont) another good place to ask questions about your car is the basement. even though its off topic mostly you'll get opinions on things from others than mainly accord drivers. sometimes a civic owner's problem can be helpful to you on your car.. either way welcome and holla any time if i can be of some help.

by the way i forgot to mention your car being a 6th gen I4. many of the mod's you will here about on 5th gen cars will in fact fit on your car the same way. even some of the 4th gen car parts will benifit you in some way. also know this you get what you pay for. all the parts you can install on your car can be pricey or cheap. not to say either is better or worse but in some cases cheap is just that and in others expensive yeilds greater return.

intake wise:
get a CAI, manufactor? just search around every1 has personal view on what to get. me i went and got an AEM v1 CAI. for show reasons at first then preformance (after dyno'ing) later

exhaust wise:
get a full cat back from one of the bigger manufactors cuz fitment and preformance come into play more than saving a few dollars.. personally i went custom for my exhaust and was happy with it but thinking of getting another kit cuz my piping wasnt layed out properly and is getting messed up since my ride is so low.. looking into greddy or Apexi many on this board have both of them

don't waste $$$!!!

intake/header/exhaust won't do chit meng! wasting $1000 for quality i/h/e is definitely a waste of $$$...
i wish i had saved those $$$ up and then put it to use when i got my turbo...if i did that, i wouldn't be so broke today T.T

explain how its a waste of money?
not every1 wants to go engine swapping or worse F/I
its alot better to be up on a car N/A with a built engine
that 1000-1500 for boltons might not be a huge improvement but its something

well... if you're gonna go turbo the header is a waste since you won't be able to use it on your FI app. your only choice is to sell it for a fraction of what you paid. that = flushing money down the toilet.
