Little deep noise, less than 1 HP, go ahead and do it, saves time when installing the CAI.

I ought to do it too. It may be a while before I make up my mind on the intake...

it brings in cooler air, not necessarily more air. i ran my car like this for a few months during the winter before i bought a cai and it seemed to make difference when it was cold out. it sounds louder, but it doesn't sound as nice as a real intake.

minor improvement of air flow but not alot to say its more noticeable the sound is different though but thats about it. if your gonna do that you're gonna need to replace (or clean) your filter more often since it'll be more exposed to dirt and what not w/o the resonator box under it

if your getting a CAI in a few months might as well remove the box for now and reap some benifit from it till you can upgrade your intake system. like some1 said earlier.
