Official Brake Upgrade ?? Thread
Well, I have a few questions that im sure others are asking as well.
Obviously the best way to go would be a big brake upgrade, w/new calipers, rotors. buuut..
There is another thread about x-drilled, and slotted, and some people liked both, some preferred the slotted. What kind are the best to get, and with those, can you use regular pads, or do you have to get the damn $45 brake pads? Or would you just suggest getting the plain brembo rotors.
Which kind of pads have the least dust, sound, and the best stopping power?
Also, do any of you have S/S brake lines? I keep looking and looking for steel braided brake lines for the 4th gen, but am having no luck.
Any help greatly appreciated.

if you're sticking w/ stock size, then either use stock replacement from Honda, or Brembo blanks. the drilled/slotted are only for looks and you're just taking away metal that could be used better as heat sink so that the rotors don't get as hot. the drilled and slotted STOCK-sized rotors aren't effective at cooling off because the internal vanes are not directional, which means they weren't designed to help cool off the rotors. even the Brembo GT big brake kits in 12.4" rotors aren't directionally vaned. the 12.9" ones, however, are.
as for pads, apparently you can't have the best of both worlds. if you want better grip, then they'll typically be very dusty. just kneel down and wash your rims. :P

I am going with slot/drilled rotors from www.irotors.com on my 98 sedan. They look good, and here good things about the company. $237 shipped to my door for all 4 rotors.
