Default Accord being auctioned???

Hey! I've been after a Honda Accord for a few years now. I found myself a car broker who has found a 1995 honda accord which will be auctioned next tuesday. Here's my problem, the car is going for $3600 plus fees, shipping ect...it comes to $5000, which seems like an absolute dream, what I'm worried about is that the car might be a total lemon. Is it realistic to expect a car to be in good shape if it's being sold for that much? This is my first car and I would hate to get a car that's a total money pit.
Thanks!
Jo

The car starts are 3600, doesn't mean it will end at 3600, could easily go up. You need to have faith in your car broker to inspect the car well before he bids on it for you. I will tell you this though, in life, you generally get what you pay for. Auctions are a little different....but if other people don't want to put that much into it, you know there is something wrong.

Monitor the market. Check out ebay and see how much people are paying for what. If you are significantly below the market, beware. Check it out thoroughly... get the VIN and run a carfax check on it... (I think it's $5 and could save you thousands). Good luck.
