Some basic questions about purchasing a 92 EX
Greetings to all.
I've been lurking around here a bit in the last few days and decided to register this morning and ask a few questions. I used search a little bit and was hoping there was a "Buying Guide" FAQ or something similar, but I didn't see anything. Anyway, my situation is this:
My parents called me a few days ago to tell me that a "friend" of theirs had a clean 1992 Accord EX (fully loaded) for a really low price ($3,000). The car is supposedly in great shape but everyone says that! I've done a carfax on the VIN number and it has turned out clean but I have yet to look at the car. I plan to take the car to a Honda specialist at some point. However, I am short on time and would like to know if there are obvious things to look out for so I can do a quick checkup on the car myself BEFORE having to take it to a specialist.
Clearly, I'll have it checked out...but if there's something obvious that is broken/lacking/etc I'd like to avoid having to take off work, find a place to take it, etc. So.........is there any website that has a guideline of what to look for on Fourth Gens? Perhaps you guys have some advice? If I've posted in the wrong place or missed a feature you guys have that would answer this, I apologize in advance!
Thanks for any help you can provide. It is greatly appreciated!

I've done my fair share of homework for other cars I've bought in the past...so I'm familiar with the process. It's just that I'm so short on time (need to look at the car tomorrow) and it's hard to find detailed stuff about a particular car/year...that is until I found you guys! The help I've gotten so far in search has been great.
Hey......Im looking into buying a used 89 honda accord lxi for $1200.......I'm going through the same things you are trying make sure it runs good. Since you checked your VIN on carfax, could you help me out and look up the car Im interested in? If you can, thx!!
