Yeah, "turned into" import vs. domestic---I didnt want it to go that route. I just wanted opinions, as AcuraFanatic answered originally, on some of the planned/made mods.

They were sold here for a VERY short period of time (a year...maybe less)....2000 or 2001 i think is the last year they made them...to have one imported now $89,500 (not sure how much they were when they were on the US market, but i'm sure nowhere near that expensive). I would have given my opinion, but by the time I reached the bottom of the page it had turned into an arguement, so I gave my opinion on that. EDIT: Since then Nismo came out with the Skyline 400R...rumored to have a 10,000 RPM redline

I am just making OBSERVATIONS regarding the so-called "perfect" import vehicles and the way they are not so perfect as compared to the domestic bunch; why am I not allowed to voice opinion, as well? Noel is not really trying to help, he is trying to argue----YOU have been offering help and suggestions and opinions; other peeps have been, too...as for what my "choice" is right now, I am stuck with my Accord, but was asking for input on the things I have been considering doing to it to make it easier to live with right now; thats all I was doing----can you focus on this and add any other insight regarding OEM gear and what I have and what I should get/should not get? Can you please consider if you have told me everything that could possibly be added/deleted from the current OEM mods I have?
I DID tell you exactly what I would do...look WAY up to the top few posts.

Then you started saying that you liked domestic cars so much better, so I gave another suggestion...buy a domestic. Seems like that would be more of what you are looking at.

I never said imports are "perfect". You totally put words in my mouth. I just said that buying a domestic wouldn't be what I'd do. I even gave you a suggestion as to what to buy.

I'm just struggling to understand your logic.

Wow, well if they were "anywhere near" that expensive, I wouldn't have been able to afford it anyway; your opinion on my original post would be most welcome, without an argument---how about pondering questions like this: on the 98-02 coupes, are the factory body kit and rear wing "good enough" to keep? Should a larger wing be added instead of the kind of low factory one? Most people in here say keep all OEM stuff, the car will look much better; how about that silver/black fade tint? And emblems? Change my chrome ones in for gold, or shave them completely? Those are some of the opinions I was trying to garner...

You know what? Im not arguing with you anymore---I have had it dude. Why is it something cant be discussed without someone just turning around and immediately saying "then buy a domestic!"? I wasnt even making this a domestic vs. import argument----the original post asked for input and opinions on some of the mods I was considering and whether or not members in here would consider them, pros and cons....I never said YOU said imports were perfect----I was just putting that word in quotes---NOT SAYING YOU SAID IT----to emphasize the fact that everyone in here won't even consider for a moment the possibility that some American makes can be just as good as some off-shore labels, and the fact that MY US made Accord has had some fit and finish problems already; I wasnt saying YOU said imports are perfect.

I understand that a domestic wouldnt be what you would buy...but, can I ask you, because I dont have the strength to scroll up right now and double check, what did you suggest for me to buy that bore an American nameplate?

You need to relax man. Take a deep breath. I wasn't trying to aruge with you. You need to realize that.

Buy what YOU like.

And I can't let you be that lazy bro...you're going to have to scroll up yourself.

I just think it's as simple as this: Why ask us for opinions? You've pretty much argued with everyone's suggestions. So just think about it on your own, talk it over with friends, etc, and decide what you want to do to your car, or if you replace it, what kind of car you should buy.

We are here because we own Honda's. And many of us are really satisfied with them. So most of us will have the same opinions about Accords, about Domestics, etc. Don't expect everyone here to agree with you when you say that Accords have no style and are underpowered. And yes...those are your complaints. If we wanted something else, we would have bought something else.

I own both a domestic (Chevy 4x4 full size) and an import (my Accord). I'm not the Nazi import guy you think I am.

Use this board as a resource, ask questions, opinions, but don't try to argue. It's pointless on any web board.

I'm all for discussion and debate when it's civilized. Just don't take this board quite so serious as you are.

Thats a pretty funny reference to the Nazi import guy...but what you are ceasing to understand is that I AM NOT trying to argue, everyone else seems to be; whats the use in this anyway....I know its pointless on any board; and the discussion DID begin in a civilized fashion, bro...it DID...I guess memebers on here are more technical related in terms of the Accord model as opposed to holding an overview, general-oriented discussion such as the one I posted; Im only taking it serious because it seems everyone leaped down my throat when all I was looking for was what AcuraFanatic provided me----individual responses to some of my modding concerns---let me repeat that: I am NOT looking for, whasoever, people to just give in agree with me here on this Honda board for divulging that Hondas are boring, etc---I was looking for what AcuraFanatic did---analysis of some of the things I was considering doing to ease the pain of owning a 40,000 mile vehicle that was once new in 1999 and now isnt; thats all I wanted...I know its my money and I need to do what I want; I guess all this just went a bit overboard...

Its all good----just wanted you to know that Im not looking for people to agree with me, even if thats the way it seems; just wanted some more input on the mods I was considering, thats all.

Seems like that's what you want. That obviously is not my choice...but sounds more like what you want.

And no...I'm not trying to be sarcasistic, just trying to be honest, helpful and to the point.

That's really what I think I was driving at albeit from the bimmer point of view....

Where did you get this whole bimmer thing----where did I indicate that exactly?
