i work at a golf course and i closed up the shop and i got in my car i noticed a crack in the windshield. it loks like a golf ball hit the windshield just above the wipers. i don't know who did it and i was wondring if the golf course should pay for it because i can't afford it right now.

Your insurance company will pay for it. And there's no deductible either. They have to replace it, it's a safety feature. Give them a call. It won't raise your rates either.

bump. I don't know but here in GA, deductables come with everything.

Don't bother to report to them, same thing just happened to me today on the road. Eventhough the rate doesn't go up, but the report still there, and they do take that into consideration when they decide whether to kick you out due to many tickets and accidents, INCLUDING NOT AT FAULT. May sound weird, but It happened to me.

Same thing happened to me. They just gave me a BS excuse saying everyone's rates have gone up, not just yours. I especially love it when they quote you a low rate to get you, and then when it comes time to renew, they increase your premium even if you made no claim at all.

I always thought they replaced windshields for free. I never had to do it, but I heard that's what they do.

sorry to hear that bro, I was thinking of getting mine filled since it's just a hot spot, but then it'll cost about 1/2 the price of replace it and they don't have any Guarantee that the crack will not spread out. So i'll wait till it gets worse then replace it. *sigh* another 250 out of my wallet (that fills with holes)

Hrmm, I doubt the course would pay for it... because it's not their fault... then again it is on their property. Since when do you have to pay for airbags specifically? On insurance... deductable is for everything and anything... and since the windshileld is a safety feature, unlike if you got a dent/scratch etc., they will cover it... but once again u still have to pay deductable. Best way is to try to get the course to do it... but I seriously doubt it... you can't even prove that it was a golf ball.

You could just ask your insurance. Then again, you could also just ask the golf course. I think some states prohibit the insurance from charging deductable for windshields, that's why some people have different answers. They're not just more generous in certain states...
