Default Suspension Experts please help ...

I have a 95 Accord LX.

The problems that I've been having is that my car is nose diving to the right when I brake. Also my steering feels very unstable at speeds of 70 mph, and my car wants to wiggle, in those cement lines on the freeway. This, has been bothering me for months and months. I've gotten my alignment done atleast 3 times. I've greased up the pins to the calipers, to see if it were my calipers that wer sticking. I've got KYB AGX shocks, can't be blown shocks. Got ground control coilovers, and Progress Camber Kit. I've also replaced the strut rod bushings that effect caster, since the person at the alignment shop said that the right side of my car has a caster that was slightly off, I then got an alignment soon after, but still the same problem!??....

The toe setting is correct all the way around...too.

I am thorougly confused, and it makes driving miserable when it does these things... I would appreciate any help to pin point to the problem area.

Thanks

Wow this is a weird one....

Have you had the control arms checked as teamlegacy said?

Is there a steady wobble coming from the front of the car?

The cement lines in the freeway makes me wonder so please humor my questions.

How long ago did you lower it?
What size rim and tire setup do you have and how long ago were they put on?
Is this your first time driving a car with this setup?

Reason I ask is because it kind of sounds like maybe you aren't used to the difference in how the car runs once its lowered and different wheels because the contact patch is different.

Sounds odd but when you throw 17s on a car it will drive very different than it did at stock. The cement grooves you are talking about will play hell with your driving as well.

Get your brake check, I had same problem with my rear and it's my pads running out and my disc weren't smooth, so I have to get it "trimmed" or however you would say it.

How would I be able to tell if my control arms were bad? They looked fine to me the last time I looked at them...

It's a bad form of tire tracking, it's so bad that my car feels like it's bouncing from side to side....feels like I can get pulled over for drunk driving ... if i'm on the freeways with those cement lines.

I've had my car lowered for around 4 years.
I have 17x7, and I got some cheapo Visa Z-rated tires made in Japan. I've driven plenty of other cars, with similar setups, but nothing can get as worse as mine.

But Please get back to me on the control arms part. Thanks

Usually its not the control arm itself actually...at least very rarely.

Lift the car up and grab the control arm and try to shake it back and forth. There should be no movement ar at the most very little movement. If you can feel it rock the arm in its mount point then you may need new bushings which can be done at home fairly easily.

When they do the alignment they should check these components though so I'm not so sure really that wil be the problem.

Take the wheels in to a different and reputable tire shop and have them check the tires out 100% because I am wondering if it may be the tires themselves at this point. Possibly a flaw in them that is throwing the car off.

Hard to diagnose without being there but these are the best guesses I can give right now.

I will be checking to see if there are any loose suspension components today, at my buddies house.

Thanks for getting back to me on the control arm procedures.
I highly doubt that it's a control arm problem, because just about 3 months ago I purchased a Progress Camber Kit with Poly-Urethane C-Arm Bushings.

Also, yea....that's what my friend was telling me also, but I've checked to see there is uneven tire wear, and none.

Nightshade, do you happen to know how I check to see if my front tie-rod is loose? What I could look for and what I need to tighten if it is loose?

Thanks, for the help.

Maybe you have a blown shock? That could explain the nosediving, and the wacky steering.

My shocks are fine, I've taken a look a them.

I've narrowed down the possible possibilities.

It is my Tie-Rod for my loose steering, but one problem is that I do not know how to tighten the tie-rod if it is loose, if anyone knows can someone tell me how to do it? Thanks

Uneven brake pad wear, and possibly my Master Cylinder for my braking problem.

The car bouncing around side-to-side, I'm thinking it might be the tires now, but i'll have to wait till those are worn down, because i'm broke....=(
