Default For the suspension junkies...

I'm trying to compile information on the different spring rates for various springs/coilovers specifically for the Accord/CL/TL. So far I have this:

Endless Zeal B6 - 12kgf fronts and 9kgf rears
Tein SS - 7kgf fronts and 4kgf rears
Comptech - according to Comptech they are 10% stiffer than stock
Eibach -
H&R
NEX Coils -
Apexi WS Coils -

And also does anyone know the conversion of lbs to kgf? Thanks!

Well 1kg=2.2lbs

If you don't have a calculator:

I have the Nex Coilovers. Great performance, but they're stiff as hell.

I have the H&R sport springs. Excellent springs and made to corner but if you are looking for a smooth ride than get the Eibach springs since they are more geared for appearance and ride than performance....same company actually just different spring rates.

Hrmmm...interesting.

Actually I'm not looking for springs or whatnot. I have the Tein SS with upgraded springs. I'm just looking to see what the difference as far as the spring rate in each is.

jschmid: That is partly what I'm looking for...but kgf is kilogram/force...so the number would be higher.

Well another item to look at is linear rate vs. progressive rate springs.

Progressive rate is softer and more for ride quality and looks, it will handle but will allow for a little more body roll because of the softer spring.

Linear rate is more for performance and less forgiving when it comes to bumps and offers less roll in the corners because of the stiffer spring rate and design.

Both are good but they do have specific uses which should be part of the consideration rather than just the spring rate numbers themselves.

yep, the H&Rs, Eibachs, and most likely the Comptechs are all progressive, so you would be posting a spring rate range. All of the coilovers should be linear...
