the hole is for keeping the airpressure down in the engine. dont leave it unhooked as u can let dirt in there, but dont plug it up as air pressure is gonna build up. if ur worried about crap getting into your air intake, get a catch can

Could you just put a filter on the valve cover hole and cap off the intake hole then?

And are you saying that you just put one of those tiny breather filters instead of the foam? Because IMO the foam thing is just ghetto and I would like to find a better way to filter that air.

i think i just plugged both vaccum lines. i didnt want that foam thingy to break up and get stuck in the vaccum system. you could but a breather on the valve cover, but its not smog legal in CA

So other than that smog crap would it be fine? I'm in AL, lol, I can do anything here.

So it wouldn't hurt anything to plug that other line? I thought it was sucking in air and that foam thingy was just like a filter for it...

yea.. i used a small breather from like pepboys on the vaccum line that ends near the fuel rail. so i can just put another breather on the valve cover hole and cap off the itake? are ther any advantages to doing this?
