Default Accord for Prelude

I just got an internship for the summer that pays roughly $20/hr. So of course my first thought is stuff to buy for my car But now I'm contemplating it and wondering if I should sell it for a '97 lude. I want the manual and vtec and the whole sportiness of it! So I was wondering what you guys think I would be able to get for the accord in TX, selling it privately. If I decide to I will get it back to stock form.

1996 Accord EX-V6
66k miles, leather, cd, woodgrain, tint. Its still in incredible condition, literally babied. Waxed, washed, claybar, garaged, vaccumed, you name it I did it. It looks the same as the day I bought it.

KBB private party: $9300

I know the ups and downs of the accord but could you guys give me your insight on preludes. I would go to the prelude forum but they're biased...wait, so are you. Maybe I should got to the civic guys

i also would say get a prelude, but not the 5th gen. the 4th gen imo is pretty much a little better in most categories besides like back seat room and audio system. also they are going to be cheaper which means more $ for mods

Used to have an accord, sold it for my lude. No regrets at all. Lude is so much more fun to drive, but accord offers you comfort and space. So, it's really up to you, do you want a practical car or a car that's fun to drive

If you want a 5th gen try to get 98 or up. The 97 was the first year of that gen and therefore has a few more problems than the others. But anyway, if you can definitely get the lude.

Just traded in my 98 Accord coupe for a 99 Prelude base manual.
I still miss my baby (Accord) but the Prelude is dead sexy and fun to drive.

You got the Prelude!!! Good decision!!! :bigthumb:

Get the Prelude! I'm bias but I own both cars. 2000 Honda Prelude & a 2003' Honda Accord EX-V6 Coupe.

I agree, try to obtain a 98' or above 5th. Gen. Honda Prelude. The 97' model year was the first year and it did have some problems with the tranny.

I believe there's an SE edition Prelude only available from Canada that has leather interior, Type SH rims, painted side, rear, & front moldings, and spoiler but does not have the ATTS (Type SH) system. Something you should look into.
