Default cure for sticky throttle from idle?

my 99 Accord's throttle is getting sticky such that it is difficult to get a smooth start (w/AT) from rest, especially after a cold start. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the solution. I already tried to clean and lube the cable where possible with not much improvement. thanks in advance.

I've got a '98 that has the same problem here and there. I haven't done anything yet to it but plan on it. If anyone can shed some light on the subject, it'd be greatly appreciated.

check ur throttle cable make sure that its tight and not too lose (supposed to have a little slack, but should be smooth maybe use wd40 if necessary) clean the butterfly valve on ur intake manifold with a gunk degreaser it might be sticking. but with a 99 u shouldnt be having problems like this yet, make sure u do ur regular maintance ie spark plugs oil changes on time, if u havent done one at all u might want to do a transmission flush get all new fluid in there might make things smoother but once again a newer car like that u shouldnt have these problems, its probably jsut not feeling like a new car when its old like my 88 then u'll know cars just arent perfectly smooth all the time

clean out your throttle body, you will see the gunk inside when you open the butterfly. Spray some throttle body cleaner on a rag and work it till its clean this will fix the stickyness.
