LOL don't feel too bad about it the Accord is actually a highly modded vehicle and there are tons of parts available in the aftermarket for it.

Quite the cult following actually.

Just outta asking too (if I did this it would be a while away) one thing I did like about the Accord were the seats (this SH had leather too)
1. Do 5th gen seats sit into an Accord (I doubt it)
2. DOes anyone have experience with Katzkin leather?

Also yes I know it has a good following...trouble is I live in a college town where Hondas make up like 85% of all cars on the road..you dont know how often I get out and I can get right in the middle of a bunch of 6th gen Accords...we look like a freakin' car show or a parade..kinda gross actually.

Katzkin seats I think has been covered in the forum somewhere I will look for the thread for ya.

Here is the thread

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...in+seat+covers

5th gen seats in a 6th gen I am again not sure on but I don't believe they do.

Geez...sounds like you hate your car. Sounds like you should buy a new car if you dislike it so much. I'm sure there are more than just that one prelude for sale in the world.

If you like the Accord, and are set on improving it, go for it. You can make it handle well with $1-1.5K.

I'm suprised tires weren't brought up earlier in this thread. Some sticky rubber will make a big difference in how the car handles the corners.

Good luck and welcome.

I dont hate it (I just sound more bitter than usual :P)
I was fine with my car until I got bored about 3 weeks ago and went and test drove a 2003 RSX Type S...I *really* shouldn't have done that. I was like Oh! this is how a car should handle...hmm...

shit.. for $1-1.5K it should handle great and come with a free blow job.. where are you shopping? i've got about $700 in my suspension total and it handles "well". now when i get the cashish to get that set of ST sways i've been eyeballing, then it'll handle great and still under $1k.

suspension techniques for 6th gen fron and rear at www.optauto.com for about $230 plus shipping. that ain't a bad price at all. i got a buddy with the S/T sways on his jetta and the suspension is so stiff that when he jacks one side of the front of his car up the other side comes up too.

Well, on my car: H&R sports=$170, Koni Adjustables=$570, TL-S rear sway=$45+hardware=$60, TL-S upper front strut=$60. That comes to $860 for what I consider a good but still pretty mild setup.

That leaves room for her to buy performance tires to stay in the $1-1.5K range. She's going to need new tires if she want's it to handle better, and she admitted that. I was just including them in the cost, maybe I should have clarified.

I know what you mean, kind of the same thing happened to me, that's a car that if you are not buying you shouldn't drive, it just leaves you :jawdrop: That's not how a car should handle, thats way better from how a car should handle(at least for that price).

I too have an accord coupe and want to get it to handle better so if you come up with a solution or try something i'd be really glad to hear from you, keep us posted.

ok.. now i see where you're coming from... i don't really consider the tires as a suspension component because, well... they don't hold the chassis/frame off of the axles.
