Default Headlight Questions

I just picked up some PIAA 9005 hi-beam headlights. They're 4000K temp and I'm not sure exactly what that means. They have a very small tint of blue on the bulb, but look yellowish-white. I have Nokya 9006 bulbs that are very blue in light, so what temp would that be at?
Thanks for the responses.

True day light and HID's are 4100+ K or Kelvin. I have some sylvania cool blues in my wife's car that are 3500 and are a real nice and clear white with a very light tint of blue. I bought 2 sets of the 9005's for my 4th gen and they are really bright a deeper color of blue at 4000. The higher the number the closer you get to the UV spectrum and in to the blues and purples you see on the acuras. Your light blues are probably around 3800. Can you put up a pic of them up close? Heres a link to give you an idea of color http://www.sylvania.com/auto/silverstar.htm

I'm too lazy to type B.S. and try to sound smart right now... whatever the knockoff companies tell you about k and crap like that means nothing... just buy them and try them.

Actually true day light is more like 5000K.

I've compared the Cool Blue and the Silverstar on the same car and the Silverstar is a whiter light and less blue then the Cool Blue. However the glass on the Silverstar is bluer then the Cool Blue.

The cool blues aren't too blue. Their like entry level blue bulbs. I got some el cheapo brand bulbs at target when they were on clearance for 10 bucks a pair and they are really blue. Their made by lite glow and are 4000K. They were cheap.
