I work in a claims center, and see stuff like this all the time. Pretty much the only way they will total it is if the damage is about 75% of what the car is worth. I once saw this claim where someone with a BMW 7series got into a nasty accident. $20,000 in damage, and because they go for about $80,000 they fixed it. In there view it was more cost effective. Insurance companies are just out for themselves.:fawk:
I tboned a BMW and it was the ladies fault. Cost to fix my Accord was $6150 which in their computer came out to 105% the value of my 96 Accord LX. The only reason why they decided to fix it was it had very low mileage 63,000 miles at the time of the accident and it was in mint condition.

If its cracked, then it should should be totaled. That sucks man. When I had my 89 Ledgend about 3 years ago, I had 230,000 miles on it and I got into an accident and they totaled it on me. It was in close to mint condition. If you can believe it they gave me $5000 for it. I thought they were joking when they told me on the phone. A nice down payment for my accord.
