Default My Check Engine Light Came On!!

What the hell do you guys think it is?

I made an appointment @ Honda on Wednesday.

My car has 87,000 miles, and its a 1998. So I dont have a clue what the hell it is. Thank GOD my car is still completely under warranty.

I thought it was the gas cap, but its not.

its probably nothing. most dealers will just check the code, then reset it. they'll drive it around, and if it doesnt light up again, they hand the keys back to u

Take it to Autozone, they will test OBDI and OBDII cars for free. They'll tell you what code your engine is throwing. THey won't reset it due to legal reasons (EPA shit), but they will let you push the button to clear the codes if you ask nice!

Why do you think it's not the gas cap?

Maybe your car is slowly decomposing and will blow up on your way to the Honda dealership. Something to think about :eh:

Ooops, forgot that question.

Last time I got gas, after it had already been lit up, I made sure that I clicked the gas cap a few times. And supposedly it takes 3 trips after that to turn off. Well, it hasnt turned off yet.

Autozone around here said they only check ODBII, and therefore didnt check my car. Bastards. 87,000 miles on a 1998. Damn, my 1994 Accord has 81,500.

The CEL won't reset itself to my knowledge. It's most likely your gas cap.

Dude, it even says on the gas cap to click it three times...
