You can test OBDI yourself. Under the passenger side dash is a 2 prong plug that you jump a lead across and then turn key to on, not start. The check engine light will flash the codes, then pause and repeat. Websites or a Haynes manual will tell what is wrong.

Wait, if you are talking about a pre '96 then yes, but if you want to test your '98 then no. Well actually I really don't know if you can test OBDII cars yourself, I have never tried. I thought you wanted to test a 94 as well. Sorry for confusion.

I think I was refering to 94AccordSedanEX, but you can still take your 98 to the Zone.

P.S.- I hate Autozone, I prefer Advance Auto Parts (I get the hook up):fawk:

Go to Autozone. Buy the 98 Accord "Haynes Manual". Read the page on how to check a CEL. It is VERY simple, all you need is a paperclip or some sort of wire. Under the dash there is a place where you connect the wire or paperclip into two holes, then a light flashes in a secquence on your dash. You interpret the sequence of flashes based on what is written in the Haynes manual.

It is important to know why the CEL activated. Knowing this will give you an understanding of what is wrong with your car and hopefully you can convey this information to the dealership. This can hopefully prevent the dealer from screwing you, which they ultimately may try to do. Go from there...
