Dude what the hell are you talking about?

8000K is the color temperature. Stock halogens color temperature is between 2300K all the way up to 3500K and the light out is about 800-1200 lumens.

My HID's are 8000K (Blue/White) and about 3000 lumens (Probably more like 3200). So they are much more brighter and intense then Halogens and consume less power (35watts compared to 55+).

What I would like is to get a lower color temp bulb like lets say 5500K so the light emited will be more white.

The spectrum goes red, orange, yellow, white, blue, purple.

 

The problem is, the further away from white color, the less those lumens help. You have the same amount of light, but its a different color, slightly, so you cant actually SEE the road as much. At least that's how I look at it. Either way its much better than stock. Halogen 9006 bulbs are 1000 lumens. But I have the 9005's in there at 1700 lumens I believe.

 

HID's are a night and day difference from Halogen's. My windows are tinted 4% Madico Onyx Flat Black and my windshield is completely tinted down with Madico Onyx 28% flat black and with my Halogen's unless I was driving down a dark road you couldn't see any light output but with my HID's it's awesome. They illuminate everything.

And with the H4 bulbs with the reflective shield and my lights aligned corectly the beam pattern isn't bad at all. Of course having optics designed for HID's is 100% better because of the pattern and hot spots but this is a deffinate improvment no doubt about it.

I'm just looking for something a little whiter because with my 8000K's and my tints it just looks to blue for my taste. Everyone else loves them but I guess I'm never satisfied.

white is a combo of the three primaries, red blue & yellow

I was referencing HID's spectrum but when you get a green HID setup you let me know.

 

4100K HID's are rated at ~3200 lumens.

ultinons (6000K) are rated at ~2400 lumens.

so 8000K should be less than 6000K.

 

Ha, so I may have just the useable output from my Silverstar 9005 conversion as your 8000k HID's? Nice.
