And resetting the ECU is not just a mind trick.

ive never noticed and real gains... but i get a few random cel's every now and then. i dont like the amber light in my eyes, so i just check the code and reset it. i dont think ive ever gotton the same code twice.

Well when you do mods to the car (most common reason) it resets the air fuel ratio to what the car needs.....the ECU sets itself to what is needed up to a certain point after that its a re chipping that is needed.

When you throw CEL (check engine light) then this is how you get it to clear. Sometimes it throws a CEL by ome error and you usually clear it once and drive it to see if it throws again....then read the code and see what the error is.

Most people do but not always those actually are minimal gain mods but again most people do it anyways just to make sure it adjusts itself properly to the new gear.

according to SCC's (if you want to believe them) in their"suck, squich, bang and blow column that they have honda has a speed air density system which does not adjust or relearn by pulling the ecu fuse or disconneting the negative battery terminal. this only works on mass air flow sensor type equipped cars.

from personal experience i noticed jack. unless someone has real dyno proof, not your butt dyno, i would believe tend believe SCC.

just unhook the negative on your battery.... grab a coke.... call your girl... talk all romantic like... then talk dirty... grab and oreo... make sure you eat the cream side first then go and hook the battery back up... there... see... no time wasted...

exactly it so easy, i'd still do it, but i really don't think it does anything. i just think that the placebo effect may be at work here.

hmmm....actually, reseting the ECU does give you power, I tried it on the dyno last time. It gave me back like 5hp and 5ft-lbs or so. And to reset it correctly you pull out the RADIO/CLOCK back up fuse, not the ECU fuse. Just pull it out for a second, that should be fine. You don't have to wait like 10 minutes, or pump the brake, or dance around the car on one foot, and many other methods that have been suggested.
