Default This a good price for new clutch?

Took my car to the shop this morning to have my mechanic check my clutch and master cylinder. Told both need to be replaced and qouted me $731.00 using all Borg-Warner parts. Parts are $259 + $423 labor. This sucks.

That seems like a pretty good price. Shit ain't cheap...if you do it yourself you'd save a bundle, it's not that hard, just need the tools. h:

changing the clutch is a major PITA.... I usually pay $275-300 for labor only. and if you are going to pay $259 for an OEM replacement clutch you might as well get a centerforce for around the same price shipped. or spend $50-75 more and get a CM or ACT stage 1.

So.... the answer is, no that's not a good price at all. But it is about average. Look around man, call every single place in the phonebook. IMO you get a slightly better deal when you buy the parts on your own and just pay for labor.

Yes it is slipping and the fluid is leaking inside the firewall from the master.
