Even if your car had absolutely no problems what so ever, when you drive the car off the lot you take a 20% hit right off the bat. Remember, cars are the worst investment you could ever make. So you will owe a difference, unless you try to sell your current Accord instead of trading. But it would be difficult if not impossible to get what you paid for. Even if you bought it yesterday.

a 20% hit? Why is there a used S2000 with 5,000 miles sitting in a local Mercedes dealership for $31,000 then? Same with the RSX's with low miles. Only like $1000 under MSRP of a new one.

Trade-In value for a 2002 S2000 with 5k miles is around $24,625. Retail value(what the dealer charges) for that exact same car is $32,425. See the difference??? So if that guy trades in his 2003 Accord, he is gonna end up paying some $ to make up the difference between the used Accord Trade in value the dealer offers, and what the cost of the New accord.... the value of a new car drops tremendously for the first owner, its ridiculous.

that is a totally different situation.... Trade-in value is always way less than what that dealer is going to turn around and sell it for.... Whoever traded in that S2000 did not get $31k trade in $..... thats for sure.
