Default JDM Headlights Are Finally Done... Now Please Help w/ Bumper

Ok, this morning I finally got the headlights put back together. Now I need to get this bumper off. Please help, I have no idea where to start, besides just taking off every screw I see which sounds kinda stupid.

TIA,
John

You should go and buy the Haynes" manual. It pretty much tells you how to take apart the entire car, has pics too.

well, IDK if 5thGen bumpers are anything like 4thGens but basically you just take oof your grille, unscrew 2 screws in the wheelwells and then take off 4-6 of those black bumper screws/clips from the bottom and 8-10 screws/clips from the top of the bumper with a couple being very hard to get at directly underneath the headlight... I had to aim the headlight as far up as it could go and then break the clips off with a chisel and a BFH.

It really is just held on by a bunch of plastic screws...I found it hard to believe myself, but it's true.

what did you do to your headlights? blackhousing I'm guessing?

edit: Oh, and be very careful removing those black bumper screws. Try to save as many as possible because Honda wants $2+ for EACH one. Remember that there are about 15-20 of these little bastards.....15-20 x $2.50 =:squint:

Very easy to do....

First thing .. if you look in your wheel well .. if you follow the lining up where close to where the bumper meets the side .. you should see a recess for I think a 10mm nut, you will need to remove these from both sides.

You will need to remove the grill ... (between your head lights).

If you take out your bumper lights (turn signals), you will see two bolts behind there. There are a total of 4 (2 on each side) take those out ...

You might also want to remove your side lights ...

That should be it ...

NOTE: You might want to check the splash guard underneeth, you might have to remove that first as well.

I am pretty sure that is it, you pull up on the bumper and it should come right off.

I have lots of pics of this at home, if you are patient I can get these up tomorrow, unless the directions are okay.

I think I'll wait till tomorrow hehe. I want to be sure and make this as smooth as possible. But who knows, if I get bored I'll prolly go start today, I don't have to drive anywhere for a few days so its all good.
