Default i need help on my cluster or speedometer.

my cluster is not broken but i think it is not wired correctly or something is not connected...my rpm works but the speedometer is dead but sometimes it cuts on. i don't know why it does that....and my gas gauge is always on full to, it never goes down only stays on full....does any one know's why it is doing this? or what is wrong with my cluster or is it the wires? i drive a 2 dr 90 honda accord

gas could be a short, since the fuel tank sending unit shows more resistance as the gas level drops. a short will indicate no resistance, thus full tank is displayed.

speedo could be VSS, as i mentioned in the other post.

of course there's always exceptions and it's impossible to be certain without diagnosis...i'm just tellin you what i'd check first.

bad speedo = bad vss usually. hondas are known for fuel sending units that fail

Default speedo

Did any of you ever solve the speedo problem?

I have the same problem('96Accord LX); it cuts on sometimes, but is dead most of the time. My OBDII scan tool says the vss is working. I would think that it is the speedo, but it could always be a open short in one of the wires....

Guess it is going to take a day of troubleshooting w/ my fluke meter...
