Default Opinion: Best tires

It's about that time to buy new rims, but I want to know what are some tires that are good. I already had Toyo Proxes and they were good, but I want to try their top of the line Proxes, but they are expensive. Has anyone made experience with them? What about Kumho, Nitto and other brands. I need actual personal experience with these tires, and not want the company says about their tire(s).

I have the Kuhmo 711's on my car now and I like them alot. For the price they are a great tire and I think they are even nicer than the 712's that I had before. I also like the Falken FK451's.

had nitto 450's loved the dry traction, cant be beat but almost no wet traction and i had alot of blow outs with them. the main problem is that they used to get titties (bumps) on the inner side of the tire so i wouldnt see it from hitting a bad pot hole or somehting.. well after a while that tittie would get cut, cracked or pop and i would need a new tire.. after that i switched to the faulken (forget the model #, but they are the ZR rated ones) and loved them similar dry traction and improved wet traction. also i had less worries about the titties on the inner side walls. BTW on both tires they have a little whine which u hear when driving (especially on the highway) all that is, is the sound of the traction i get used to it and love it but in the beginning u think ur tire is low, messed up or ur hearing things.. many times i found myself pulling ova and looking under the car until one day i was in my friends car and heard the same thing and he told me what that sound was (if ur stereo is on u dont even notice)

I have Yokohama Avid H4/V4's on my stock 15 inch rims and they are GOOOD! Damn so nice, when I corner they don't even think of skidding, they just make this weird but nice rubbery noise, I can't really explain it. Either way I'm happy I went with performance tires rather than some Michelins this time.

The best performing tires in the dr and wet that you can buy are Bridgestone Potenza S-03's, but it depends if you think tires are worth that kind of money or not.

www.tirerack.com

They are the highest rated tire on that site...very impressive. They've won every comparison test that they've been in.

There is no S-01

S-02's are slightly better in the dry and have slightly better comfort than the S-03's, bu the S-03's kick their ass in the rain. The Potenza S-03's are the best tires you can currently buy for a mix of dry, wet and track driving..too bad they're so esspensive
