Default ACT 6 puck

I want to hear from people with a ACT 6 puck clutch, does your clutch engage really strong ? I mean ya its supposed to but when I shift from 1-3 everytime I push the clutch in I hear this loud (boom as the gear gets slammed into gear) then when I release the clutch it does the same thing. Is this supposed to happen? Can this fuc* my tranny up ? I have learned to drive it without slamming the gears but I have to shift slower and watch what im doing more. Can I get some opinions/options/reviews.

Also when the car stalls, its pretty damn harsh. I mean bad haha.

Thanks guys, help me out

you really should have gotten the XT SS if you want a tough clutch, a 6 puck is not for alot street use cause it engages harshly.

I have the ACT 6 puck with heavy duty pressure plate and it took a little to get used to it but its not that bad.

Be careful about "slamming" gears because I have a habit of speed shifting and after a year of doing it I am looking for another H22 tranny because the synchros have given up on me in 5th starting to go in 4th and 2nd is sounding not so hot but still driveable I just keep off the freeways right now.

I had an act 6 puck with extreme pressure plate in my turbo lude. It's nice when you're out playing but sucks when you have a chic in your car, or a co-worker and you try to drive nice, it was impossible. I'd stick with the HD setup unless you're boosted and have some serious nuts under the hood, the XTR series is nice, but be ready for lighting fast HARD shifts. I have a friend with an ACT street setup in a talon and it's a pretty nice feeling, definately a lot happier than stock, but not anywhere near as onry as the extreme sets.
