Default Finally hit the track...

I went to the track for the first time yesterday with my car club at school and tested my car for fun. Thought I'd share with you guys my times, though not very fast times, I did better than I was hoping.

Best run for the night
Reaction: 0.8539
60 ft: 2.6039
330 ft: 7.0447
1/8 ET: 10.6792
1/8 MPH: 67.60
1/4 ET: 16.3856
1/4 MPH: 87.17

This wasn't as that good of a track according to the guys. Theres a better one that usually gives better times but it was closed. I have nothing but a catback exhaust and removed resonator with stock filter and only removed the spare tire. Wondering if I get a CAI, remove my seats, and run at the nicer track if I can break into the 15's. For those of you that don't see my sig, its a '96 AV6.

Oh yeah, for the above times, I ran with a ~2001 v6 stang 5spd with exhaust and he had reaction time of 0.5841. We both had a good launch and I was barely ahead the whole time. Beat him though, his time 16.8346. Maybe he didn't know how to drive, but he was cool about it though. Yay me!

Yeah its the stock 2.7L V6. Thx.

I thought that reaction time doesn't count into the 1/4 time. I heard its at the point when you car passes a sensor that it starts counting. By that I mean that you can sit there for 5 mins after the light, sure your reaction time's bad, but the 1/4 time won't start until you move.

You are correct sir. Did you adjust your tire pressure at all?
Did remove your spare tire or anything?

I thought for sure that the timer starts when the light goes green, and the time it takes to go from yellow to green is .5 Otherwise why does the reaction time matter at all?

the reaction time matters because you can get a head start on the other car. you can actually run a slower time and still beat your opponent.

the clock does NOT start untill you cross the line. If you are just going to test your car and not beat your apponent then reaction time doesn't matter. You can sit at the light for 5 mins and still have your best run ever.
