Default Just hit a pot hole going 50mph

Just hit a pot hole going 50mph the frony tire almost went fully flat. I want to the gas station and used Flat out. It worked ok, but do you think the tire is repairable or do you think I have to get a new tire

damn, sorry to hear that man. How does it look now? Seem like you need a new tire. Have some1 drive ur car, and you drive next to it. see if it bounce or hop. Hopefully thing's end well. if you're rolling on stock, then no prob.

Take pictures of the pothole and claim it on the city. It maybe the tire but then it can also be your rim.

It looks normal, the only thing is that I lost alot of air in my tire, I used flat out and went back on the road since I was about 20mins from home, I hope the rim is ok, do you think the tire is worthless?

Look at both the outter and inner sidewall to see if there are any bubbles. if so, your tire is toast. If not, i would take your car to a good tire place and have them look at it. You will at least want to re-balance that tire (this will also tell you if your rim is damaged). You might also want to get your alignment checked. If there is any damage do the picture/compaint thing to the city. Policies vary from place to place but I have heard of instances where people have gotten reimbursed by the city.

I did that in my '91 Camry at 80 mph. I blew a hole in my front passenger-side tire and bent the lip of the rim. That was when it had those old-school, ghetto a$$ Prime Polished Aluminum 5-Stars.

I was on I-294 in Illinois it was very dark, so I had to wobble wooble wobble for about 2 miles 'til I could get off the tollway and pull into a gas station.

I was just told in one of the other threads that if there are any bubbles in the tire that the belt in the tire broke. I imagine that this has to be kinda' dangerous. I would replace the tire as soon as possible. Depending upon the severity of the bend in the lip of the rim, it might be usable for a short period of time, but it will be leaking air constantly.
