Default HELP: Shift Knob Install

Okay, i'm new at this, and apparently not very good at finding instructions on the net. How do I remove the stock shift knob on my 95 Accord EX 5spd? Just bought a MOMO Combat CF Shift Knob and would like to get that on the car. Please provide instructions and/or links if you guys could. Thanks!

you have to pop off the plastic piece on the bottom of the shif knob before you can unscrew it. just grab it and pull down. you may have to put a little muscle behind it.

on 6th gen all you do is pull down the shift boot, and unscrew the knob. I had to use a wrench/pliar type tools to get it unscrewed

Thanks everyone, I figured out how to take off the stock shift knob, and now I realize that there's NOTHING on the knob that would hold the shift boot up. The boot just sags and the metal bar is exposed. So, basically I'm guessing that can't do anything until I buy a MOMO shift boot or something. Any suggestions?

If not, I now have a used MOMO Combat Carbon Fiber shift knob up for grabs.

You've got to buy a new shiftboot as well, the stock one is only made to fit your regular shiftknob...find one on the net like at jcwhitney.com for like $20+...different colors too..

my shiftknob came with a bolt, but it didn't hold up the shift boot. So what i did is found an old tupperware jar, cut out some circular designs and cut holes in the middle (kinda like washers, but a little bit smaller) and just put those on the bar. They slid down to a point below where the bar gets wider and they held up the shift boot.

Just something ghetto rigged, but it works until i get another shift boot
