the sound i'm talking about is when you are outside your car, not inside. when i remote start my car, i come out in a few minutes in the freezing cold and everytime, it sounds like the fan is on, i'm not sure if it's on, it just sounds like it's on, but i figured it was the cai, since it's sucking air. so basically, what i'm saying is, when it's sucking air, while you're outside, does it sound like the fan is on?????

I have the same cai but with a bypass valve and it DOESN'T sound like a fan. You should definitely crack the hood piece open and peep it!

Wow you are worried about a sound your car is making but you won't open the hood to see where the sound is coming from.....

hmmmpphh....open the freakin hood and check where the sound is coming from......then ask the question.

hm................Why don't you open the hood and hear it. Put your ears near the air filter and hear, if it sound like how u heard, then it's DEFINITELY OKAY. And of course, it definitely sound louder to people outside, because it's closer to them.

Well the radiator fan comes on when the car reaches its operating temperature and climbs above that temp (180 or so degrees I believe).
