Default Install Price for Exhaust?

I am just wondering what the avg price would be to have a full cat-back exhaust installed on my 2000 Accord 4cyl. My Apexi WS should be on its way and I have yet to determine what the right price should be to get this baby bolted on.

Thanks!

u could try to do it yourself. just a couple of bolts.

but if you don't want to, my exhaust was made (piping and welding) for 55 bucks so that should give u an idea.

i would guess $50-60 since those are average labor costs and it should take about an hour. the nice thing about a shop installing the ws, is that they'll make it so it doesn't hang so low.

I got my WS installed for $45 at Midas. The only thing I hate about this exhaust is that the midpipe hangs way too low. If I were to lower my car 1.5 or more.. it'll scrape I think all WS midpiping hangs that low Make sure everything looks right before you leave(like stand from a far distance to look)because when I got home.. I notice the canaster was hanging too low; then when I went back to ask if they could raise it, they wanted to charge me again to adjust the hangers.. so make sure everything is right before you leave, but tell me how your install goes.

Thanks for all the replies. I hope all will go well during installation.

I will let all of you know how the installation goes and if I can get the midpipe adjusted so it won't scrape when I lower my car.

All the Apexi exhausts hang low.

I'd suggest to do it yourself. The secret is to use Penatrating Oil (I found the one by Valvoline to be a great help! $3.99). I used it on the bolts, and let it sit. The bolts between the B-pipe and exhaust pipe were easy to unbolt. But the bolts between the cat and b-pipe were a *****, so I took the cat off with the b-pipe attached. Those screws were easy after some penatrating oil. I let it sit for an hour while a friend drove me to the store to buy a Craftsman socket (guarnteed for life!) Once I got back, the bolts camed off with ease. Now I had the b-pipe and cat attached in one section, and the exhaust piping in another section. I had sprayed penatrating oil on the bolts before I left. I had my dad stand on the cat while I used t long socket wrench to break the bolts. They came off with ease (for 138k miles of use and heat, I was suprised). As for the hander, use WD40, they'll come off the hangers with ease.

Basically, do it yourself if its a bolt on system. If its universal weld on, then have a shop do it.

As for me, I bought an RS*R cat-back, but it didn't fit. It was the last one in the United States brand new, and I didn't want to send it back. I had Midas customize it, and that worked out pretty well. I just had it installed on Monday, they did a good job, and didn't charge as much as other shops. They eve had room for my 3" dropped accord on the racks. Other shops said to raise the car. The total was $109 for the labor. Plus some parts (I guess bolts and welding), and tax. Final total was $128. I'm happy.

do it yourself...it is pretty much the easiest thing to do to your car. just a couple bolts. i dont see how u could mess up...the hardest part is the rusted bolts but they weren't a probelm on mine.

i installed it myself last sunday. removed the stock one all by myself, and my dad helped me install the ws. it's crappy when my jacks can't raise it high enough, but we managed and it's good saving $60 on something else. i just used wd40 since i didn't have liquid wrench. have fun with the rubber hangers. :P
