Default 98 Accord fuel delivery issues? **(read down thread)

Issues with my new (to me) V6 Accord.

Seems that the previous owner let the battery go completely dead (6 month, no start). Anyway, now when I hook up another decent battery I get nothing but security system horn honking. Honks for two minutes, then if you try the key, it starts over honking again.........

Won't start during this process, sounds like it has nothing, no spark, cranks fine.

Any ideas? I assume this is factory security system related? Annoying part is didn't have this problem when the P/O parked it. Only issue then was the idler pulley.

Little help.

Okay, got that figure out. Apparently you have to have the key OUT of the ignition and the doors locked to get all that nonsense to quit.

NOW THEN.
Why won't she fire? I've got crank, no go!

help a brother out.

Yes, have the key FOB key and also the grey "valet" key.

I have read where if cars sit for extended periods in the heat, the main relay can crap out.

This car sat from March until late August (in the direct sunlight, sometimes near 100* ambient.

Could this be it? Sucks because it was totally running fine when parked, just needed an idler pulley and had a flat.........

Fuel pump hummmms when I turn the key.

Don't really, just know it will stumble and sputter on a tiny shot of ether, does little to NOTHING just cranking.

Pulled two front plugs, seemed to be arcing nicely.

your problem will be at the fuel side if you have spark and good compression.

try changing the fuel filter and putting injector cleaner concentrate.

otherwise, you might have a stuck open egr.
o wait, have you fixed the alarm problem? dont do any of the above if you still have the alarm issue

Alarm issue is fixed.

Fuel filter is at the pump, correct? Why would that all the sudden cause problems? Car ran fine when parked............?
