How hard is it to install some reverse indiglo guages in a 5th gen Accord? It would be my first time trying to remove the cluster. Rate this on a scale of 1-10, 1 being easy, 10 being hard
I would say 4. Its not hard.... but its tricky dealing with the gauge needles etc.... and for some people its hard for them to get the dash apart.
But i did it, and the dash was easy, and all my needles are fine(even though i had put the gauges on, then off, then on again.)

well if your dash has never been taken apart before, you should assume all screws are in place. So yes, you will have to take out the center console, including the black radio part. You have to do this because there is a screw on the upper part of that black radio console piece going up, holding the big trim piece that surrounds the A/C control etc..... Once that is done, there are a few screws hidden behind the defroster button, and the cruise control area, then theres a few screws for the actual gauge cluster.
But when putting the dash back together, i left out some screws so i wouldnt have to take the center console out to take out the upper piece etc.... its just easier to go back and do something later.
For the wiring, i find it easiest to tap into your dimmer switch(ground, positive).

i think rating this job is dependent on wether or not you know where the screws are etc.... and how good you are with fragile pieces. Ill put it this way.... it doesnt require any special skills/tools, just time and patience.
amen... its a pain finding the screws and then knowing if you have them all cause of those damn clips... and u really dont want to break anything... took me about 2 hours not knowing where screws were, but no problems were encountered... all worked out fine
I personally think that buddies on this project just makes it more difficult... I mean there can only be so many ppl *1* in your car at once and multiple people taking out random screws and pulling just gets annoying lol.
