Default Quaife LSD owners

After about two weeks of my mechanic trying to find a h22 tranny with LSD I have given up. I told him, fuc* it im just going to put a quaife in it and call it a day. (since in those two weeks I got another pay check lol)

So my question to you is:

1. Where did you purchase your quaife LSD and how much did you pay.

2. Are you happy with it?

Thanks.

Not from personal experience, but I can answer #2. Everyone who has used Quaife's LSD are extremely happy with it...Quaife makes a good product.

As for where to purchase it, I'd look in your local yellow pages and start calling various shops. If they dont' have it on their floor, they can probably order it. You're in So Cal, you shouldn't have any problem whatsoever. Try locating **** in NH. :fawk:

I e-mailed quaife a couple weeks ago to be sure they made an LSD for the 6th gen's f23. This was the reply I got:

Mr. Kaufman,

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the Quaife ATB diff will work in these
models as long as it is a 5-speed manual and not the SH version.

Regards,

Ralph Hollack

I'm *assuming* that since the H22 and F23 transmissions mate up, the LSD used in an H22 can also be used on an F23, thus their mention the SH? maybe? narf!

Well .. if you are doing any kind of racing of sorts, the LSD is nice. When you are auto-xing it helps around corners a ton. How ever, if you are not going to do that, it really isn't worth the money. You are going to be paying 900 bucks for the unit. Another 400 or so to get it installed. You probably should also get your differential bearing replaced as well if you do get it. The reason why it costs so much is they have to take your tranny apart to install it.

The SH has ATTS which is supposed to act like an LSD and is probably not compatible. Otherwise F and H series LSDs, clutches, and flywheels are interchangeable.

I know. There's one parked next to my Accord outside my office right now. In fact, I just exitted it after returning from lunch.

See thats the thing, thats why im doing this right now...My car is sitting in the shop with my old motor out and my new one sitting next to it. So the mechanic isn't going to charge me labor to put the LSD in my tranny cause I waited over two weeks for him to get me a JDM h22 LSD tranny.
