Default Automatic tranny fluid/filter change

ok guys i really need to change my tranny fluid and and filter in my tranny. it hasn't been done in quite a while. i have bought everything i need to do it, fluid (i bought 3 quarts but only need 2.5), i bought the filter/gasket kit, and a gear oil pump to pump the fluid in there. now i looked under my car yesterday at the tranny while i was changing my oil in my garage, and i was wondering how in the hell im suppose to get the pan off. i was told im going to have to pull the pan to change the filter, and well i don't see any bolts to take the pan off. i watched a buddy of mine change it on his g/f's sentra last weekend, and all the bolts were in perfect sight. if someone could give me some info maybe even pictures it would be greatly appreciated. obtw i looked in my haynes manual and didn't find anything on it.
thanks
-Brad

well who ever sold you a auto tranny filter is a retard cause honda does not use one.

all you do is pull the plug, let it drain, and fill it back up. there should be a small dipstick on the left side of the motor way down, but in the front. pour in your oil there. now the drain plug, turn your wheels to the left. look in at the tranny (passenger side) there is a bolt. use an extension on your socket wrench to get it off, it does not need a socket.

what he said....and you need a 3/8 inch drive ...its a lil rectangle for the wrench to fit in.

no filter to change , no gasket, no pan dropping. just drain and replace about 2.5 qts....(at least on 4-6 gen 4cyls.)

there is a filter that does exist but it ain't for replacing....

I think a total DIY atf change will run you a whopping $6 if you use regular ATF from valvoline....

i bought it from advanced auto parts, i was gonna take it back tomorrow because it didn't come with a gasket so i guess i will just return it for a refund. well i guess then im changing all this will only cost me the cost of a gear oil pump, cause i took back the tranny fluid because my friend has a whole case in his garage.
ok thanks for the info guys im gonna change it tomorrow when i get home from work.

The gear oil pump is really not necessary either. just a long narrow funnel.

Make sure to use Honda ATF ... and clean the drain plug.. Why? Drain plug has magnatic so that it catches all the metal stuff comes out from transmission gear..

ok guys well i did it today when i got home from work and it wasn't that hard except i had to use a breaker bar to break the bolt loose it was on there really really tight. but overall it was easy. i took back the filter and a pump cause i didn't need it. i just used a funnel, breaker bar (with 3/8 drive attachment), and 2.5 quarts of fluid. and yes i wiped off the drain plug, it had a lot of junk stuck to it. and not to mention my fluid was like dark brown. i really needed to change it, now it shifts a whole lot smoother.
