Default Accord stock headlights??

Hi everyone im newbie here and i just got a used 95 vtec accord. Now thinking about what mods to do.. Thinkin about changing the headlights first since there so dim. But are these stock headlights HID? So can i just get some 9006 Xenon HIDs? and 9005 for hibeams rite? Or do i need to get a HID system first?

Also what are the differences in intensities? Im seeing 5000k, 6000k, etc. That just mean the brightness rite? TIA

for the cheap route, just go to autozone or pepboys or wherever and buy 2 9005 Sylvania Silverstars and do the 9005 conversion (do a search on how to do this conversion)

for the expensive route get a 9006 HID retrofit kit from www.proxenon.com www.suvlights.com www.auto-lamps.com

i suggest getting 4300K or 6000k, the higher the value the bluer the light will be and the bluer the light the less vision you will have on the road.

:werd: with all the people

98CoupeV6 is right, we cover these questions almost every week and its really gettin tiresome, but since you're new here and probably had no idea how to HAN "SEARCH" Engine, I'll help you out.

If you want the front lighting to be your first mod, tell us what you want done. Are you going for HIDs? Xenon Blue Bulbs? 9006/9005 Conversion?

Let me just say that those blue-paint covered "xenon" bulbs are pieces of sh*t and their light output is worse than your stock yellow halogens. The "xenon" bulbs are HORRIBLE in the rain, OMG...

For the 9005 conversion, buy a set of high beam (9005) light bulbs (i suggest getting the Sylvania Silverstars 9005 at www.suvlights.com.) They're not exactly "blue" in color, but more like arctic white. If you want to stand out and look different, don't worry, you'll stand out alright, esp. with the 9005 conversion. Search the site for more info. Remember to aim down your headlights a little to prevent blinding oncoming traffic. Check your car manual for instructions on how to aim your lights.

For the TRUE way of getting better lights is the HID route. I'm not an expert of HIDs, but I'm sure there are people here on this board who will be more than happy to help you out.
