Replace the EX muffler with another muffler at meineke or whatever AND DON'T KEEP THE FLARES

thats because they usually charge $35 a piece for them... thats $70 just for exhaust tips.

 

actually, i think it's more of a rip-off on the part of the muffler garage.

the stock tips are just bolt-ons. I think there are 1 or two tightening screws on each one. Now, your muffler goes bad, not the stock flare tips. why doesn't the muffler shop just take the old stock tips and bolt them onto the new muffler.

i betcha alot of muffler shops got a lot of used 4th/5th gen flare tips for sale.

Its one bolt, but it can be a ***** to remove due to road debrie, heat, and the other elements. I once had my muffler tips come off, and just taking the old bolt off was a *****.

 

Haha, almost every 5th Gen EX I see is missing one of the two flares. I scoot my LX past them and chuckle.

 

Yeah, but of all the cars out there...I don't think many have a "peashooter tip" as small as the 5th gen LX's.
