Default what should i do?

i am trying to decide between a swap and a build up of the f22 with a p&p. i have a 94 accord lx 4dr. i know its big but i like it. what would be the best route to go. and if i go swap i want an h22 out of an 98 - 99 lude. how much am i looking to spend on a complete swap. i have done a search but souldnt find the info i want. also what kind of times would i be running? thanx

swap with a 95 h22a. they're better cuz they have a closed deck block. youre gonna have to work alot on the f22 just to get to the level of the stock power of the h22

I would go with the swap. I swapped my 94 with a 98 H22A4 (USDM) and don't regret it at all.

P&P is nice but it only goes so far and the F22 is a real pain to get to produce impressive numbers (not impossible but expensive) and usually involves going the turbo route.

The engine, tranny, ecu, and axles should run right around $2300 - 3000 depending on who you go through (I can get em for about $2600 US). The install will run you anywhere from $600 - 1700 depending on the shop and any incidentals. It is actually fairly easy to do yourself but the information on it is very limited and can vary from engine year and origination (USDM or JDM).

www.h22a.org is a very good site to begin your research since the owners is a big Accord phreak and has done several swaps of his own.

Oh and as for times mine has clocked in at 15.5 in the 1/4 and it is pretty much stock.

I am taking it in for some reworking and a new tranny this next month and should have it rolling some real times by spring.

you want an OBD1 engine since your car is OBD1. so 92-95. 96 is the first year of OBD2. it depends how fast you wanna be. i am running a stock internal F23 turbo putting down 221hp and 238ft/lbs. the stock H22 will put you at 165hp and 150ft/lbs. if your motor is in good shape i would suggest going turbo. its a lot of fun. but then again i'm sure 8500rpms is a lot of fun also. i'll tell you right now that a turbo F22/23 running 8-10lbs will smoke an H22. but the H22 has more room to build onto if you plan on adding more down the road

thanx for the replys. right now i am at about 127,000 miles so i think that is a little high for a turbo. how much do you think a rebuild will run?

Actually you can buy an OBDII engine and simply remove one of the O2 sensors and voila its an OBDI engine. MIne has been converted to OBDI and works great so don't sweat the OBDI/OBDII issue when purchasing the engine but you do want to keep the car OBDI since its easier to pass smog after the mods with OBDI.

If you go Turbo....I'd recommend a H23/JDM F22b/F20B with 1gen. Eclipse turbo setup. The DSM manifold bolt to the above blocks with little fabrication. You would have the best of both worlds.....the potent top end of the turbo and the torque of the H23 etc....
However....if you go N/A......listen to dantastic

1800 for the labor?
DAMN that is steep....ifyou lived a little closer(up to 4 or 5 states away) i would do it for you for a lot less than that, but i think driving to texas will eat up too much money and time...
