5th Generation H22 swap
Has anyone done this swap themselves? I want to do this swap but I don't want to pay someone a grand to do it. Is there anywhere you can find wiring diagrams for this swap or maybe someone has notes from where they did it themselves? Any help would be appreciated.
I haven't personally done it, but I've had a friend who's done it to his 4th generation, and it's a very common swap for the 5th generation as well. We might start seeing 6th generation swaps soon as well.
There's a lot of DIY pages online on how to do this swap. It's pretty straight forward...you can keep the stock motor mounts and a lot of the wiring is the same.

Yeah, mine was pretty easy, except for the minor massaging of the driver's motor mount to get it to fit. In the 4th gens I heard it is really, really, easy. I would say it wasn't too difficult, 2 days work with all parts on hand. But use the search button to find useful info, that's what I did. Oh yeah, if you want a good deal on a JDM H22 engine and trans, check out osakajdmmotors.com I didn't get mine from them, but I wish I did. Wow they are cheap, but they aren't shady. I've talked to them for friends, and they are the real deal. Also if you want an auto (like me) their package is like $200 cheaper!!!
Anyone have comprehensive info on a 4th gen swap? I might sell my teg and buy my dads 93 Accord EX with 203k miles. So far I've been to http://www.h22a.org/4gswap4.htm and it's pretty useful but there are a lot of little annoying things like the coil and the fuel banjo bolt. Thnx.

I have done my own H22 swap in my 97 accord and the only thing that you have to worry about is the driver side mount which you need from a 92-96 prelude then you have to grind a little off the side of the hole, and you will need to have the header and cat all welded back together because the H22 downpipe is about 1 1/2 inches to long. Everyone seems to do this part different so just ask around when you get to that part.
The only other thing is to wire up the Vtec and the knock sensor and pressure switch the only other problem i could see would be the Dist wiring but maybe not.

Try www.h22a.org they have a ton of info on the swap aside form that the info is very limited on this swap. I had mine done but have been in on a couple 5th gen swaps and its pretty straight forward. The only difficult part really (not that bad though) is the pins on the ECU to get the VTEC solenoid to work.
