Default 96 Accord EX Stumbles on Warm Restart

Anybody have any ideas why an Accord would stumble on a warm restart. It runs rough for 10 or 15 seconds and may stall if I put in drive and try to take off. Not an issue on a cold start and never seems to have a problem once driving.

The car will miss at ldle ever now and then. The plugs, wires, cap, rotor are all 15K old. The fuel filter is new. No engine codes, except a high voltage reading on the rear o2 sensor that has not returned.

This condition does not depend on teh outside temp. It has been happening on warm and cold days. Not more common in wet weather.

Thanks for the help

I would assume it's due to the lower, warm idle as opposed to when the idle is raised when cold. By 15k you could certainly help your cause by removing the dist. cap and cleaning it, as well as the rotor if anything is built up on it. If that car has an EGR valve, maybe that's got something to do with it, but I don't know much on that topic.

Since you say it misses now and then, first thing I'd do is look under the cap. If it looks alright and cleaning it out doesn't help I'd take a look at the plugs to see their condition.

You say it does it for 15 sec. Where are the rpms and do they increase after those 15sec?

maybe egr pintle does not seat properly if your vehicle is equipped with one.
inert gases might be dilluting your air/fuel ratio during closed loop operation.

the RPM are around 750 when it stumbles.. and it really stays there during normal operation.

Is the EGR serviceable at all? I see that it is a pretty expensive part to replace.

Also to clean the rotor, cap just lightly sand with very fine sandpaper and wipe with alcohol?

Thanks

maybe the distributor cap has a crack on it.

For cleaning the cap and rotor I guess you could try sandpaper but I just use a wire brush (brass is good) and then either compressed air or a damp cloth to get rid of the debris.
