Noob Question About the H22a..
Hey guys, Im kind of a noob to the import scene but was hoping you guys could help me. Alright, I drive a 5th gen accord 5 spd... and I was planning on getting the H22a swap.
I want to make my car at least a lil stronger then it is right now and was wondering what parts I could buy that are compatible with both the Prelude Motor and the Accord Motor so I dont have to go through the trouble of selling and buying.
For instance, if I buy a AEM CAI for the Accord right now, will it bolt right up to the prelude? Headers? Will my catback exhaust still fit with the Prelude motor? Thanks..

only the motor mounts & transmission fit, the gears are taller on your Accord's tranny so it'll be slightly slower - but it'll work. nothing else on the Accord can bolt up, the ThrottleBody is bigger so the intake won't fit, the headers are different design, so that's out, too.

You can use the intake since the intake is bought for the car not necessarily the engine.
Other than that you can use the exhaust although it does have to be refitted once the H22 is in the car.
Aside from that there really isn't too much that swaps across unless you want to keep the F22 tranny or buy an H23 tranny.
The H is a very different creature from the F series motor so its kind of an apples to oranges comparison. I swapped mine this last summer and haven't regretted it yet....except the ticket I got in Cali

You CANNOT use an accord intake on an H22. The H22 has a 3" TB and the f22 is a 2.5". The header will not switch over either.
I would stick with getting a good catback exhaust and just work on the suspension.
I N2O idea isn't a bad one either.

its ok to get an exhaust. you should get a new cat convert (hi flow) and modify it to fit with the stock or aftermarket h22a header and the accord exhaust

you know whats odd?
my accord intake worked fine on my h22a.
yes it was a little smaller, but it DID fit and DID work. Later I went ahead and bought a prelude intake for greater diameter.
Other parts that will work would be things like an AEM fuel rail, fpr, exhaust of course, a vafc, also clutch and flywheels as well. not much else transfers over though that attaches to the engine....
