Default Exhaust rattle?

I have noticed recently that my car has a rattle/vibration noise at about 1800rpms in 2nd gear. Is this a common problem on the 94-97 Accords? I know my 91 Prelude had the famous 2000rpm exhaust rattle because of the pipe inside a pipe at the bottom end of the header. Does the Accord also have this problem?

Thats just a good point in the car for high exaust power/shaking... its the same in my car and I wish my exhaust was always that loud haha. Try driving around in a parking deck and keep it at that RPM level! Right there my whole car vibrates... it's insane, and sets many many car alarms off haha! So much fun... I can just cruise and set car alarms off.

yup... 5th gens have the famous 1800rpm buzz. You can get a "buzz kit" from the dealer but my dealer told me it is not a permanent solution and the buzz would return within a year. If you have a 5 speed, you can just adjust your gear changes to stay out of the 1800rpm range.

You can also remove the heat shield from the header and it will go away 9 times out of 10

oh my god, i have a rattle/**** sound at 2000 rpm's. i hate it soo much cause its loud and terrible sounding, ive taken it to meineke like three times because that's where my muffler is from and they've replaced the muffler more than once and it doesn't go away, it's worse when it is cold out. i have a 93 accord btw. is there any way to get rid of this??

Sorry I meant to say the lower heat shield down by the collector or just have it rewelded.

I had this on my 88 Civ and that was all it turned out to be and I removed the lower shield during my swap on my 5th gen Accord and I haven't heard it yet.

i had the same problem before i put in the rs*r exhaust. now it quiet as ****. my old exhaust had rust holes all over it and the b pipe cracked at the resonator.. so i was basically driving with no muffler.. it sounded cool but after a few days i was annoyed by the sound. thank god i chose a quiet exhaust.

it could also mean your cat is worn out. mine did that. it made a terrible rattling sound at low rpms...(really loud when coming down), but then i got a racing cat

my cat was worn out, and the inside eventually turned all around and blocked my exhaust, but that's another story :-P
