Best aftermarket projector headlights for HID's?
I've got a real desire to put some projector headlights on my 2000 coupe and I also want to put an HID setup inside of that. Which brand is the best way to go when doing this upgrade? And is it really worth it to do the upgrade because I really want to do an install that will make it look like a stock setup following the likes of an Acura, 4300K color which is what comes stock for the cars with OEM HID setups, and that nice even light pattern which makes the HID so desirable. And if possible, please let me know what number the bulbs are that come with the projectors so that I can compare what the halogen version looks like compared to the xenon version. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
if you purchase an aftermarket china made headligh with projectors, they are going to suck. trust me on this one. The best way to pick up 2 TSX or TL(i-xenon) projectors and retrofit them into your own original headlight. Then pick up an HID kit from Phillips with osram bulbs. Or just buy any hid kit and they will work too. The bulbs you want are 4300-4500k and the bulb type is D2S
Well, I wanted to buy the TYC projectors with the chrome housing, but I was informed earlier on that they have been discontinued, which means the easy way to do my retrofit has been shot down. I already sent out for the TSX projectors, which should be here later on this week, but now I have to make the decision whether to buy the black TYC projectors which I personally don't like all that much even though they look nice enough when not on the car. I also have the option of buying the aftermarket original headlights because I don't want to risk ruining my OEM headlights in case my retrofit goes awry. Anywhere I can get a Philips HID kit for a good price. I've seen some of the pricier ones on Ebay for under $200, but if I can get a name brand like Philips for that price then I'm all for it.
