I think I hear the wear indicators. I've replaced them on everything from '88 to '96 models (piece of cake) but they were not ABS. I haven't looked yet, but is there any difference? Pitfalls? Or is it still a drop in?

Also, is there an aftermarket service manual for an '01 EX V6 yet?

 

I replaced mine for the first time at 55K miles on my 99 I4. LX=Non ABS. Helms makes one for your car. I have it.

i replaced brake pads/rotors on a 89 legend w/ ABS. it was really easy. i think the only thing different was that you had to bleed the fluid line.

 

how do you know when you need to replace brakes? ive been wondering because mine make a squealing sound a lot of times...
i have 56k miles on mine. its a 98 accord lx-v6 it has abs. what do these wear indicators sound like?

PS, the pads have wear indicators on them. It's simply a metal clip that drags the rotor when they get thin. It's not usually a squeal as much as a grinding or metal dragging metal sound.

A squealing is usually a vibration in the pads. I always put anti-squeal stuff on the back of the pads. It just dampens vibration. I had a motorcycle rear brake that was squealing something horible and I found out the caliper bolt was loose. It wouldn't hurt to have it checked out. Sometimes it's the nature of the beast.
