Default Question : Check Engine Code 1164

Sorry to post this in off-topic. Everyone seems to visit off-topic more, so I figure i'll post it here. Does anyone happen to know what this engine code is? I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find what it means. If anyone could help me, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

My guess is it is 11 / 6 / and 4 not 1164.

I think tech forum could help more on this subject but I will leave it here as well.

How did you end up with the numbers 1164? It should only be 2 digits at the most.

oh really? I took it to a local import store(AutoZone) and they used the tool to see what code it was. They ended up with that number. They told me that they don't have this code in the computer, and that it skips over that number 1164(I think it's 64)They told me I would have to go to the dealership and ask them, but I don't want too.. they charge an arm and a leg =X

I found this on another site (http://www.iapecc.com/ecu_codes.htm)

61 Primary Heated O2 Sensor Slow response, bad O2 sensor, exhaust leak
63 Secondary Heated O2 Sensor Slow response, bad O2 sensor, exhaust leak
65 Secondary Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Open or short in secondary O2 sensor circuit
67 Catalyst System Efficiency System below threshold, bad catalytic converter

I think it's the 02 sensor =X but I'm hoping it isn't.. it's going to cost alot to replace it.

That's an obd2 code, that's why it's 4 digits, They were just using a cheap scanner you'll have to use something like the snap on scanner that will tell you what each code is, all though I think honda still has the two wire diagnostic connecter you can jump still right? Try looking for a chevy of the same year codes, because I'm pretty sure all numbers are the same on anything after 1998 like I know all 1700 codes are tranny related, I just can't remeber what the 1100 codes are.

OMG!! thank you soo much vermsta!
Code P1164 is "primary O2 sensor circuit range/performance problem". (http://www.floathouse.com/ACE/HondaD...esODBStand.htm)
Ahhhhhh.. looks like I'm going to have to replace that.

Does anyone happen to know any good sites that sell 02 sensors for a cheap price? and thanks again for everyone for the help!

www.theaccordstore.com is for 5th gen accords only. Is seems like you have a 2000... correct me if i'm wrong.

Autozone is my source for parts... the lifetime warranty is really nice (except for electrical items). And oygen sensors are fairly expensive... I just got a Bosch O2 sensor for my car from them, $189 plus tax.
