Default No ABS spline on new Axle?

1998 Honda Accord 4 cyl.

I posted earlier but found out the problem. Now I seek the solution. The driver's side axle was replaced, but it did not come with the brass(?) ring around it. So now my ABS light is on. I tried to heat it up and pound it off of the original axle, but it wouldn't budge. Was the axle I bought from the auto parts store supposed to have it? Or does that ring come off? Thanks in advance.

Default Wrong axle

I got the wrong axle at the store. Luckily they will let me return it. Problem solved, other than replacing it in the Michigan winter.

I was going to suggest returning it, otherwise it won't hurt anything besides the ABS not working if you'd have used the first one you got. The light is annoying, but I actually prefer no ABS on snow and ice, I just remove a fuse.

I hate winter too, seems the most labor intensive repairs always come up with its below freezing out

Default Yeah

Autozone is letting me return it even though the boot ripped while putting it in. I think I'm gonna replace the upper and lower ball joints at the same time.
