Hello. Today, i finally used up all of my full tank of gas. I filled in 15.231 gallons and i went 471 miles with it. It comes out to approximately 31.3 miles per gallon. This was with 60% fwy and 40% moderate traffic driving. This is my record so far. What are your records for the best MPG on your accord? Oh btw, my car is a 02 EX coupe I4 5 speed manual.

 

i've had 475mi w/ a 14.5gallon fill before. nothing special. i use to average 31-34mpg. before these deadweight 17"s. then w/ these heavy cast rims, i went down to 28-32mpg. then w/ the 13" rotors, i'm down to 27-31mpg.

oh well, hopefully when i get my forged rims in a couple of weeks, the mpg will crawl back up again. guess i'm not doing too bad for a car with 175k+ on the engine.

 

wut the heck....am i just driving like a madman? i barely get 300 on a tank of gas. ave around 280. and i fill up around 14 gallons too. 1996 honda accord lx sedan

 

dude, im so glad u said that cause that's exactly what ive been getting. I thought my car was just in need of some extreme maintenance but now im not so sure. I got all happy this last fill cause I got 300 miles on it for the first time. So is your car taken care of like its supposed to be or do you neglect it? I have a 94 Accord LX 5 speed.

 

yep....oil change every 3k miles. before my "new" engine...i jus had the 60,000 service done..and i was still gettin the same mileage. all i had was a cai, and axle back exhaust.

now with my "new" engine, should run almost perfect(had to replace engine cuz of hydrolock), stock intake, but still axle back exhaust... i'm stil gettin the same mileage. wierd....i duno..maybe i jus gas it too much.

 

how did u get hydrolock? went through a huge puddle with no resonator?

i dunno.....i think all accords should be getting around the same MPG.......300 seems a little too low for our ULEV vehicles.... USC has the older accords and he was getting same if not better MPG as me. How are you driving? i floor my car about 5 times every tank. Maybe you work your car a bit harder than me?

 

hrmm...i tend to drive a bit heavy on the gas pedal...but i don't WOT that much.



bout the hydrolock...car was at home...i was at college. had a cai on....but my fender linin had ripped out awhile ago..and i kept forgettin to get a replacement. then stupid storm hit so kali, and my bro drove it thru a pretty big puddle. i think it woulda been fine if the fender linin was still on tho

 

my 2000 V6 coupe gets about 330-350 per full tank

 

320-380 on a full tank.
