Default Am I still on original rubber??

Background: Bought the car at 29k miles from carmax in '00. Now it has 63k miles. I have never replaced the tires since buying it. Have just rotated them once. The front now has still very good tread (~75-80%) and the back is decent(~60%).

Is this still the original tire? They're Micheline MXV4-plus which as far as I know is what comes out of the factory with Accords based on my observations. I don't think it was changed before I got it b/c it only had 29k miles and that its the same brand(I don't remember) At this rate, I expect to have to change them about 90k miles. If so, how long do these things last I just think its incredible if this is so.

not sure
but my friend's '88 acura legend came from the factory with Micheline M4's or something like that, so i'd guess they are original on your car
now he puts on the MXV4's
i don't know how long they last
but they are great tires man

Yeah I am sure you are man. My Accord is at 80,000 miles and the Michelin's tread is about halfway or a little more worn down. So its all good. Getting the Dunlop SP-5000s on there. They should hold up for a good 35-40,000 miles.

I love this tire!!! =) As far as I know most tires don't last that long, even if they claim 60k or whatnot. Sure these are $145 dollar tires, but worth every cent for the length they last.

you must not be pushing them hard in the turns, the rain or at any situation....I hate them except for their durability

rotate your tires every 7500 miles and you can greatly increase tire life.

i had OEM Michelin MXV-4s, they went bald at 29K. depending on the style of driving & weather & road conditions they can last longer; on my Maxima i had OEM Toyos & they went for 80K. i have new tyres on the Accord, Yokohama Avids - the traction is badass compared to those Michelins.

Agreed. I have an '02 EX with these tires; performance and weather-wise, they are shyt. Car and Driver and Motortrend have both said that these tires "hate this car" and it's the truth. There's much better touring tires out there. These tires are designed for fuel efficiency and a quiet, comfortable ride, not performance by any means. I was hoping the tread would run down quickly since this is common for factory tires, but reading some of the posts in this thread, I'm thinking I may have these tires as long as I have the car. Crap...
