A while SCC did an article about how no matter what car you buy it designed so you shift into 3rd at 61-63 mph even if it hurts 1/4 time by making 2nd too long. This is done so people can boast good 0-60 times which mean absolutely nothing to real racers, but makes for great talk for people who think they know cars.
